Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data Popshare collects when you use our website and app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, members, hosts, service providers and event organisers.
2. Information we collect
Account details — name, email address, phone number, password and profile information you give us when you sign up or complete your profile.
Business information — for hosts, providers and organisers: business name, company registration number, VAT number and related details, if provided.
Booking and messaging data — listings you view or save, bookings you make or receive, and messages you send through Popshare.
Payment data — payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Popshare does not store your full card details; Stripe processes and secures that information under its own privacy policy.
Usage data — basic technical information such as device type, browser and how you interact with the app, used to keep Popshare working reliably.
Optional notifications and search — saved searches and their email-alert choice, browser push subscriptions and quiet hours when you opt in, and message read times shared with the other conversation participant. You can disable saved-search alerts and push in your account. Device location is requested only when you choose “Use my location” to sort nearby results.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to: create and manage your account; let you list, search for and book spaces, services and events; process payments; send you booking, account and security notifications; respond to support requests; keep the platform safe (for example, moderating reports); and meet our legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We share information with other members where needed to complete a booking (for example, a host can see a booker's name and message content once they've made a request). We also share data with service providers who help us run Popshare, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (hosting and database) and our email provider (transactional emails). We do not sell your personal data.
5. Cookies
Popshare uses cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. To understand how the site is used we run Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device. Separate listing view counts show hosts and admins aggregate totals without a visitor list; anonymous tokens stay in page memory. You can switch off both types of analytics on the Cookies page and we honour Do Not Track. See our Cookies Policy for details and how to manage your preferences.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep account and booking data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. You can ask us to delete your account at any time — see your rights below.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, and request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please also take care to use a strong, unique password.
9. Children
Popshare is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Popshare develops. Where a change is material, we'll let you know by email or through the app before it takes effect.
11. Contact us
For any privacy question, request or concern, please get in touch via our contact page or email hello@popshare.co.uk. We aim to respond to all privacy queries within 30 days.
